Within Karakorum’s gigantic snow-capped secretive mountains is a folk tale of Jardanelo. A mythical creature that is believed to exist by many. “Jardanelo” is a Burushaski word derived from the Burushaski language spoken in Hunza, northern Pakistan. There is very little information about this creature. very few claim to have seen it and others have a firm belief in its existence. This particular folk tale goes way back many years deeply en-rooted within the datusingh clan of Hunza .this clan is particularly believed to be spiritually enlightened. Hunza back in the day used to be home to many creatures from witches to shape-shifters but now they rather just exist in books as story-tales. older people still have vivid memories of their encounters with supernatural creatures in the past. With time as the population grew these creatures went into hiding. Jardanelo has rarely been heard of especially outside of Hunza, not many people are aware of it and even in Hunza itself. Jardanelo is said to be a human with a horse-like body covered in armor and chains. Jardanelo is believed to come at the time of the death of a datusingh clan member .it comes in between 3–4 am with a loud shackling voice and loud clanking of chains. many people have heard the noise but they never actually saw it and the one who sees it doesn’t get to live another day. it is a myth among the community that was widely once believed in the olden times.
